It is a combination of true Italian passion when Gruppo Campari and illycaffe came up with the idea of ILLYQUORE, an original coffee liqueur at 28% abv made of Arabica beans with no added aromas and colouring. The product is scheduled for launch in Italy both on-trade and off-trade in July 2008 and internationally in 2009. illy will retain the rights to the brand while Gruppo Campari is entrusted with it’s distribution. With the struggles of Kahlua coffee liqueur to maintain it’s sales volume and brand awareness despite various re-branding activities, it’ll be an interesting sight to see how ILLYQUORE will grow in the near future.

Liquorice grows best in deep, fertile, well-drained soils, with full sun, and is harvested in the autumn two to three years after planting. Liquorice flavour is found in a wide variety of liquorice candies. The most popular in the United Kingdom are liquorice allsorts. Liquorice flavoring is also used in soft drinks (such as root beer), and is in some herbal teas where it provides a sweet aftertaste.
