Cocktails – Summer Libations

The heat is up! Summer is almost at the doorstep of those that will be enjoying their sun from the month of June onwards. Get your shades, tanning lotion and…..SHAKERS ready! Here are some of the great cocktails that’ll add to your fun under the sun.

Nuts Over Cream
Ingredients:
20ml Jameson Irish Whisky
40ml Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur
20ml Monin Macadamia Syrup
15ml Liquid Cream
Ice Cube

Technique:
Chill a wine glass. Mix all ingredients into blender (the amount of ice cubes used should be just right above the liquid level). Blend for 15 seconds/till slushy. Pour content from blender into a chilled wine glass.
Garnish: Chopped fresh strawberry and mint sprig

Ginger Rogers
Ingredients:
12 Mint Leaf
15ml Homemade Ginger Syrup
45ml Gordon’s London Dry Gin
Top Ginger Ale
Large Ice Cubes

Technique:
Muddle mint leaves and ginger syrup in a sling glass. Fill with ice, add gin and top with ginger ale. Stir briefly from bottom up to mix well.
Garnish: Mint Sprig and Lime Wedge

Pina Ocha
Ingredients:
2 Pineapple Slice
1 1/2 scoop Vanilla Ice Cream
15ml Monin Green Tea Syrup
60ml Pineapple Juice
16oz Ice Cube

Technique:
Chill a sling glass. Mix all ingredients into blender and blend for 15 seconds or till a slushy consistency. Pour content into chilled sling glass.
Garnish: Maraschino Cherry and Pineapple Leaf
